The Uyghur Solidarity Campaign UK brings together solidarity in the UK workers’ movement in support of the Uyghur people’s struggle for freedom.

We are protesting against the Chinese government’s genocidal persecution and forced assimilation of Uyghurs, Kazakhs and other indigenous people in East Turkestan / Xinjiang. Against suffocating surveillance; repression of cultural, political & religious freedoms; mass internment; forced contraception & sterilisations; forced labour; and family separation. They must have freedom and the right to democratically determine their own future.

And we are protesting the UK government’s heinous attacks on refugees. Already, this country visits appalling treatment on people fleeing destruction and oppression – imprisoning them in inhumane conditions, impoverishing them, discriminating against them and deporting them to face danger and death. Now, Home Secretary Priti Patel has announced new policies piling on yet more attacks, particularly against people seeking asylum from political and religious persecution.

If our government is to live up to its rhetoric supporting the Uyghurs and other victims of persecution, it must withdraw these inhuman policies. We demand welcome, safety and equality for all refugees.
